Job summary

HonorHealth's Thompson Peak Primary Care clinic in Scottsdale is seeking a Medical Office Clerk to serve as the first point of contact for customers and to handle clerical and patient support duties.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, scheduling and registration, collecting payments, processing authorizations, maintaining charts, and coordinating with physicians' offices while ensuring HIPAA compliance. High school diploma required; 1–2 years healthcare experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year in healthcare related field and knowledge of medical terminology or scheduling/registration experience preferred.
• 2 years in healthcare related experience including scheduling/registration or related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers and handles calls; directs information to staff.
• Schedules procedures and tracks no-shows; communicates with physicians as needed.
• Registers patients, collects signatures, medical authorization and financial responsibility.
• Obtains insurance authorizations and collects co-pays; processes daily deposits/billing as applicable.
• Maintains patient charts and communicates with medical records and billing.
• Maintains office supplies and performs other duties as assigned.
