Job summary

Self Regional Healthcare in Greenwood, SC is hiring for a full-time Patient Access Coordinator. Typical hours are 8:30am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday, with responsibilities including scheduling, pre-certification, and benefit verification to ensure proper entry into the health care system.

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Healthcare industry knowledge is preferred.
Strong customer service experience.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding.
Ability to build productive internal and external working relationships.
Strong analytical and organizational skills.
Ability to handle challenging customers professionally.

Responsibilities

Schedule, pre-certification, and benefit verification for patient visits.
Conduct patient and guarantor interviews and obtain signatures.
Enter demographic and financial data in EPIC accurately.
Determine estimated patient financial responsibility with verified benefits.
Coordinate with physicians, nursing, and staff for proper patient entry into the health care system.
Ensure pre-certification/authorization complies with insurer policies.
Respond to customer needs with fast, professional service.
