Job summary

The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to provide patient registration, scheduling and telephone support across multiple clinics. You will maintain accurate information in Aprima and Dentrix, coordinate with clinical and billing staff, and support patient access services with culturally respectful care.

Responsibilities include processing registrations, verifying insurance, and assisting patients with inquiries.

Qualifications

• Minimum: High school diploma or GED; two years of office experience in outpatient settings; strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Preferred: Associate degree in medical office administration; experience with registration, scheduling, insurance verification or medical records; valid driver's license.
• One year of experience working with Native Americans or Native American organizations is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and assist with check-in/check-out per clinic procedures.
• Schedule, confirm, cancel and reschedule appointments using provider guidelines and approved systems.
• Assist with insurance verification and collect demographic, enrollment and contact information.
• Coordinate with clinical, billing and PRC staff to resolve registration and scheduling issues.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance; support team training and onboarding.
