Job summary

Ponca Tribe of Nebraska is seeking a Patient Benefits Coordinator to help patients obtain and maintain health insurance and resources. You will assist with applications, renewals, and documentation, explain coverage, and keep benefits data in the electronic health record.

This role collaborates with Patient Access and billing staff to ensure access to services across clinics. The position requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to work with multiple programs including

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher in health-related field or equivalent experience.
• Two years of experience in Medical Insurance/Benefits.
• Knowledge of eligibility policies and program requirements.
• Computer proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Provide benefits outreach and education in the Ponca service area, with primary focus at the Omaha clinic.
• Assist patients with applications, renewals, and required documentation for health coverage.
• Explain coverage and benefits and maintain accurate information in the health record.
• Coordinate with Patient Access, billing, and care staff to address coverage concerns.
