Job summary

HealthFirst Bluegrass in Lexington is seeking a Referral Specialist to provide administrative and patient support within our FQHC. You’ll greet patients, collect information, schedule appointments, and help ensure a welcoming, efficient patient experience.

You’ll manage medical records, assist with billing, and support clinic operations. Strong customer service, organization, and communication are essential; bilingual Spanish skills are encouraged but not required.

Qualifications

• Register patients by collecting and verifying demographic, insurance, financial, and eligibility information.
• Schedule both new and follow-up appointments.
• Prepare, maintain, and file patient health records following program and service standards.
• Maintain patient flow during clinic sessions.
• Enter, store, and retrieve information using electronic systems; assist with routine reporting and data entry.
• Collect service fees, process payments, and complete daily reconciliation.
• May require occasional evenings or weekends.
• Bilingual candidates encouraged; Spanish proficiency preferred but not required.
