The role emphasizes accuracy in scheduling, understanding payer requirements, and providing courteous, professional service to patients and staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in business, healthcare, or related field preferred.
• Combination of post-secondary education and experience considered in lieu of degree.
• Experience with data entry preferred.
• Typing 45-50 WPM preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate scheduling of tests and procedures with physician offices and departments.
• Enter scheduling information and maintain patient demographics in hospital systems.
• Gathers, updates and maintains daily records of scheduled patients.
• Verify medical necessity at scheduling and coordinate pre-certification when needed.
• Collaborate with departments to schedule outpatients promptly.
• Provide strong customer focus and professional handling of calls.
