Job summary

Codman Square Health Center is hiring a Patient Service Representative I to support front-end revenue cycle and clinic operations. You will greet patients, verify insurance, register, and guide them through appointments in the EHR.

The role emphasizes customer service, data accuracy, and teamwork in a fast-paced clinical setting. Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 1 year in a medical office or health/insurance environment, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in a medical/clinical office or health/dental insurance industry.
• Previous customer service background required.
• Ability to interact with diverse patient population.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Familiarity with HIPAA and confidentiality requirements.
• Ability to learn systems quickly and work as a team or independently.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients warmly and establish eye contact.
• Monitor waiting rooms and notify patients of delays.
• Perform patient Check In: registration, insurance verification, collect co-pays.
• Explain patient responsibilities regarding arrivals, forms, and policies.
• Enter patient data and encounters into the EHR accurately.
• Assist patients with completing pre-visit and other forms; process prescriptions.
• Assist with appointment scheduling across departments.
• Promote and educate patients on the Patient Portal.
• Perform patient Check Out and schedule follow-ups / referrals.
• Manage recalls, no-shows, cancellations, and end-of-day reconciliations.
