Job summary

Terry Reilly Health Services is seeking a Patient Access Specialist to greet and assist patients, schedule and register visits, and determine service eligibility. You will counsel patients on payment policies and manage the waiting area to ensure a smooth, respectful patient experience.

The ideal candidate will have strong customer service, solid communication skills, and basic bookkeeping abilities, with comfort using EHR and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Ability to provide strong customer service to a complex patient population.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic bookkeeping skills - cash handling, posting charges, and deposits.
• Ability to navigate multiple computer software programs including EHR, Microsoft Office, scanner, calculator, and multi-line telephone.
• Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Greet, direct, and assist patients and visitors in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner.
• Schedule and register patients, including accurate data collection.
• Determine eligibility for services and counsel patients regarding payment policies.
• Monitor and collect monies due and manage billing processes.
• Maintain a clean, informed waiting area and communicate wait times to patients.
