Job summary

Saint Alphonsus Health System is seeking a friendly Patient Service Representative to join the SAMG Clerical Float Pool. You will check in patients, collect co-pays, answer calls, schedule visits, and verify insurance using EPIC, ensuring accurate information and a high quality patient experience.

You will collaborate with physicians and staff across SAMG clinics, working flexibly in a full-time float pool with day shifts and weekend coverage to support the Treasure Valley clinics.

Qualifications

• Minimum: high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Healthcare experience and EHR familiarity are a plus.
• Medical terminology knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Check in patients for appointments and collect patient co-pays.
• Answer telephones and take accurate messages.
• Schedule appointments and check insurance eligibility.
• Update required information in EPIC EMR.
• Greet patients and provide a positive customer service experience.
• Verify and update patient and insurance information.
• Maintain a neat work area including the reception area.
• Balance daily financial activities per Cash Control Policy and collect payments.
• Assist patients with Financial Assistance paperwork.
• Communicate delays and wait times to patients.
