Job summary

Green Bay Oncology is seeking a Patient Access Coordinator I to manage scheduling for provider appointments, treatments, labs, and tests. You will verify patient information and collect co-pays to ensure smooth clinic flow while collaborating with the care team to reduce wait times and improve access to care.

The role requires strong customer service, excellent communication, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced health care setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in a customer service setting, preferably in a medical office or health care setting.
• Experience using Microsoft Office Programs and Electronic Medical Record system(s) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and facilitate scheduling of patients for provider appointments, treatments, radiation, labs, and testing.
• Verify and update patient demographics and insurance information.
• Collect applicable co-pays and other non-covered service charges, accurately applying multiple forms of payments to patient accounts.
• Optimize patient satisfaction, provider time, and clinic flow through scheduling guidelines.
• Collaborate with clinical team to improve patient access to care and reduce wait times.
• Assist patients with scheduling and coordinating referrals for other testing and/or services.
• Screens calls for emergencies and directs to standardized protocols.
• Promote communication between patient and clinical team and protect confidentiality.
• Demonstrates Green Bay Oncology values and ethical practices.
