Job summary

AdventHealth in Apopka, FL is seeking a patient registration and scheduling specialist to join our team. This role supports outpatient appointments, coordinates with registration and ancillary departments, and ensures accurate capture and throughput of all scheduling activities.

You will handle precertification, communicate workload priorities, and participate in staff meetings. A high school diploma and basic computer skills are required; CPR certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Computer proficiency required.
• Knowledge of small office equipment (copier/fax/calculator) required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates registration and scheduling for patients.
• Communicates with registration and ancillary departments to ensure throughput of all outpatient appointments.
• Schedules patient appointments for ancillary departments and records required information.
• Notifies physician offices of possible non-covered appointments.
• Facilitates precertification for outpatient clinics.
• Maintains clerical abilities to file records supporting scheduling function processes.
• Attends staff meetings regularly to stay informed and contribute to team discussions.
• Other duties as assigned.
