Job summary

UAB Medicine, Alabama’s largest health system, is seeking a Patient Services Coordinator I for The Workplace Occupational Medicine Clinic. You will perform front-desk and clerical tasks, schedule visits, collect copays, and coordinate with care teams to ensure timely patient access.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1 year of office/clerical experience in a clinical environment or customer service setting.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and add-on patients to clinic and route calls.
• Enter demographic and insurance data into IDX system.
• Obtain and track insurance authorizations and referrals.
• Schedule surgical cases and collect copays.
• Communicate with patients and perform follow-up as necessary.
• Liaise with referring providers and clinical teams to facilitate timely access to care.
• Perform other clerical duties related to patient care.
