Job summary

Springfield Clinic seeks a Patient Access Specialist (PAS) to serve as the entry point for guests, handling calls, check-in, insurance verification, and scheduling. The PAS will ensure data integrity and deliver exceptional, hospitality-driven service across the front desk and Care Team interactions.

The role requires strong communication, accuracy, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced clinic environment, with HIPAA compliance and CMAA exam eligibility within one year.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• Comfortable with technology and basic computer use.
• Administrative or technical background from 2–3 years of college preferred.
• Minimum one year medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls and route to appropriate area; take messages.
• Verify demographic and insurance information; update as needed.
• Assist guests with check-in; educate on FMH portal.
• Collect patient payments; balance receipts.
• Schedule provider appointments and optimize schedule utilization.
• Collaborate with Care Team to ensure smooth guest flow and data integrity.
• Document guest requests in the EHR for Care Team follow-up.
• Maintain front desk or call center duties with a positive, welcoming attitude.
