Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year in a healthcare setting preferred.
• Experience with data entry and medical terminology a plus.
• Understanding of third-party requirements and HIPAA privacy standards preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Schedule outpatient procedures accurately per guidelines.
• Assist patients, physicians, and staff through scheduling steps.
• Confirm appointments by contacting physicians or patients as needed.
• Obtain insurance information to expedite verification.
• Enter complete data into the scheduling system with correct dates and codes.
• Complete outpatient verification to ensure insurance authorization requirements are met.
• Review accounts and consult supervisor on potential delays.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
