Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; vocational training is preferred.
• 1 year in a medical office or hospital setting with 6 months scheduling or insurance verification experience.
• Heartsaver CPR certification within 90 days for specific departments.

Responsibilities

• Schedule diagnostic, surgical, and outpatient procedures using scheduling systems.
• Verify insurance eligibility, benefits, and authorizations.
• Register patients with accurate demographic and financial data.
• Provide procedure prep instructions and cost estimates.
• Collect co-pays and reconcile daily cash drawer.
• Communicate with physicians and staff to confirm details and resolve conflicts.
• Document insurance and authorization information in the system.
• Answer calls and assist with scheduling and rescheduling.
