Job summary

Baptist Health in Louisville, KY is seeking a Patient Access Scheduler to join our team. This role will coordinate scheduling for diagnostic tests and procedures across departments, handling a high volume of calls and faxes while providing excellent patient service.

You will inform patients and physician offices about test preparations, verify insurance and precerts, and perform pre-registration and payment estimates to ensure a smooth scheduling process.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Typing 45–50 wpm.
• Registration or Scheduling experience preferred.
• Experience with Epic scheduling system is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Schedule patients for diagnostic tests and procedures as ordered by referring physicians (via Epic, fax or telephone).
• Handle a large volume of incoming calls or faxes and schedule with multiple procedures across departments.
• Be the first point of contact with patients or physician offices and ensure their needs are met.
• Inform patients and/or physician staff of proper preparation and test instructions; identify required precerts/authorizations/referrals.
• Perform pre-registration, create payment estimates, verify insurance and evaluate benefits prior to appointment.
