Job summary

Emerus Westover Hills is seeking a Patient Access Clerk to serve as a liaison between patients, payers, and hospital staff. The role focuses on collecting demographic data, verifying insurance, and securing payments to maximize reimbursement.

Day shift PRN position with emphasis on compliance, accuracy, and excellent customer service at the front desk, ensuring smooth admissions and accurate medical records handling.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of patient registration and insurance verification experience; 2 years preferred.
• Emergency Department registration experience strongly preferred.
• Knowledge of various insurance plans (HMO, PPO, POS, Medicare, Medicaid) and payors.
• Fluency in English; strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Obtain and verify demographic information to facilitate billing and revenue cycle.
• Verify insurance benefits and obtain necessary authorizations.
• Pursue collections at the time of service to maximize reimbursement.
• Scan and file registration and clinical documents; maintain medical records.
• Provide excellent customer service at the front desk and assist patients as needed.
• Maintain logs of patients, payments, transfers and admissions.
