Qualifications

• Experience in customer service within healthcare settings.
• Ability to collect and verify patient demographics and insurance information.
• Familiarity with CMS and HIPAA compliance and privacy rules.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred for this role.

Responsibilities

• Performs Medicare compliance reviews and issues ABN as needed.
• Creates accurate estimates for patient financial responsibility and collects payments.
• Coordinates with utilization management for pre-authorization issues.
• Contacts insurance companies to verify eligibility and obtain pre-authorizations.
• Registers patients for services and ensures accuracy of records.
• Collects demographic and insurance information from patients.
• Provides coverage for assigned work areas and coordinates relief as needed.
• Communicates with clinical, ancillary, and access departments to enhance patient experience.
• Documents conversations with patients and payers, including payment arrangements.
• Attends department meetings and promotes teamwork.
• Performs PBX coverage and basic cashiering functions.
• Executes other duties as assigned.
