Job summary

Shriners Children’s in Pasadena, CA is seeking a Patient Access Representative to be the first point of contact for patients and families. You will assist with scheduling, pre-registration, and patient registration, while guiding access to external financial resources and maintaining compliance with hospital and regulatory requirements.

You will greet patients, collect and verify insurance information, check in for visits, and manage consent forms.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma is required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
• 3+ years in patient access, scheduling, registration or customer service in a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Answer incoming calls to the main operator line.
• Greet and direct patients/families for appointments and treatments.
• Enter and update patient information in the computer system and update insurance data.
• Perform check-in of patients for scheduled visits or admissions.
• Prepare and obtain signatures on treatment and billing forms.
• Scan documents into the EHR system and verify insurance coverage.

This position provides support to our patients as they are experiencing a life changing event. The support is accomplished by working with the caregiver to schedule appointments, perform pre-registration and registration of new and existing patients, and providing patients with information regarding access to additional external financial resources. In this position, you will have the opportunity to support our patients with issues dealing with scheduling and questions for the provider(s).
