Job Overview

The Patient Access Representative is the first person our patients and caregivers will interact with. This position provides support to our patients during a life-changing event by working with caregivers to schedule appointments, perform pre-registration and registration of new and existing patients, and provide information regarding access to external financial resources. You will support patients with scheduling issues and provider questions, and ensure compliance with hospital and regulatory agencies by obtaining necessary consents.

This position is per diem, non-exempt, and benefits-eligible. The pay range is $21.00 - $29.65/hour, based on experience and departmental equity.

Responsibilities

1. Answer incoming calls on the main operator line.
2. Greet and direct patients and families for appointments and treatment.
3. Accurately enter and update patient information in the system.
4. Enter and update insurance information.
5. Perform check-in for scheduled appointments or admissions.
6. Prepare and secure signatures on treatment and billing authorization forms.
7. Scan documents into the EHR system.
8. Verify insurance coverage for all patients receiving services.

Hours: 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Qualifications

Education: High School diploma required.

Experience:

• Bilingual required.
• 1 year experience in scheduling and registration required.
• 1 year receptionist/switchboard experience required.
