Job summary

Mercy is seeking a Patient Access Lead to serve as a resource to the Supervisor/Manager, guiding caregivers, monitoring the area, and mentoring team members while identifying and implementing workflow improvements for efficient patient access.

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma and participation in preceptor training or experience post-hire. The role requires strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills to perform under pressure and deliver accurate results.

The Patient Access Lead serves as a resource to the Supervisor/Manager by providing expert guidance to caregivers, monitoring assigned area, training and mentoring team members and identifying and implementing workflow improvements. The Patient Access Lead has the knowledge and skills to perform all duties required by their assigned area.

Position Details

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma or equivalent.

Experience: Participate in Preceptor training/experience post-hire.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience: 3 years' experience with medical terminology, insurance plans, verification of benefits, authorization and pre-determination.

Physical Requirements

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
