Alomere Health is seeking a Part Time Emergency Room Patient Access Representative to perform diversified admission tasks across inpatient, ED, and outpatient registrations. The role emphasizes accuracy, timely EMR entry, and compliance with state and federal regulations while supporting a patient-centered care environment.

The position offers a 0.8 FTE schedule with varied shifts, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Preferred healthcare experience or Medical Secretarial training/terminology.
  • Strong customer service skills across patients and families.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and basic computer systems.

Responsibilities

  • Register patients accurately for ER, outpatient, and inpatient visits.
  • Scan IDs and insurance cards; obtain signatures for documentation.
  • Collect demographic, insurance, and guarantor information.
  • Coordinate with triage/charge nurses and paging systems to relay information.
  • Manage work queues and ensure completion of patient charts in the EMR.
  • Assist patients entering the ER and provide mobility support.
  • Monitor patient overflow and alert nursing staff as needed.
  • Lockdown protocols during emergent situations and maintain security per policy.

The position is responsible for following guidelines to room patients while remaining compliant with state and federal regulations. The Emergency Department Patient Access Representative enters patient information accurately and timely into the electronic medical record.Essential ResponsibilitiesThe following description of responsibilities to be performed is not intended to be all-inclusive. Rather, it focuses on the major tasks that must be accomplished.SchedulingThe Emergency Room is open 24/7. Patient Access needs to be able to work the variety of shifts, as listed in the posting.
