Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative at Monmouth Medical Center in New Jersey. The role focuses on greeting patients, collecting demographic and insurance information, and ensuring accurate registration with compassionate service.

On-site position requiring a High School Diploma, strong customer service, and knowledge of registration and billing basics. Cross-training across MMC locations is available to support throughput and positive patient experiences.

Qualifications

Be able to cross train at MMC in Long Branch & New Center opening in Tinton Falls.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Strong understanding of healthcare operations and medical terminology.
Excellent customer service skills.
Knowledge in all aspects of registration, non-federal and federal billing regulations, and state programs such as Charity Care is preferred.
Tech savvy and have computer skills.

Responsibilities

Greet patients in a timely and friendly manner and ensure respectful treatment of all customers.
Ensure accurate collection of demographic and insurance information and complete the registration process.
Collect co-payments, issue receipts, and reconcile daily cash within the PFS Department.
Provide a safe and secure environment during registration and obtain required signatures.

Patient Access Representative opening is the first face for a patient entering one of our RWJBH facilities! If you have empathy, customer service skills, an understanding of medical terminology, and love to be patient facing.

As a Patient Access Representative, a typical day might include:

Playing a key role in the health system and in providing excellent customer service while ensuring timely throughput and capturing all necessary data timely.
Greet all patients in a timely and friendly manner. A core function of this position is to ensure that all customers, external and internal, are treated with the highest level of respect.
Provide a safe and secure environment for the patient during the registration process. Clearly review and communicate all forms and obtain required signatures for services provided.
Ensure accuracy and thoroughness in collecting and documentation of the patient's demographic and insurance information and utilizes the technology available to complete the registration.
Participates in creating a positive environment for patient and colleague satisfaction. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments.
Collecting co-payments, issuing receipts, and reconcile daily cash within the PFS Department.
