Per diem, up to 30 hours a week. Schedule: Monday–Friday (no weekends); hours may vary.

Job Summary

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsibilities include reviewing, verifying and updating patient demographic and insurance information, collecting patient payments, resolving registration-related edits and acting as a liaison between clinics and patients.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Access scheduled appointments through work queues to review and correct registration-related issues.
  • Interact with patients in person, on phone and in email communication.
  • Review, confirm and update demographic and insurance information with patients.
  • Receive and process payments from patients for pre-determined deposits, co-payments, deductibles and self-pay payments and provide receipts.
  • Prepare, reconcile and close daily cash drawer at end of shift.
  • Direct all patients seeking financial assistance to the Financial Coordinators.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality regarding all patient matters and secure all patient information.
  • Assist internal customers in tasks necessary to ensure complete patient satisfaction and revenue assurance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or GED completion required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Medical Terminology and Accounts Receivable background helpful.
WORKING CONDITIONS

Employee will be present in a clinical and outpatient setting which has high patient volume. Must be able to work in a busy environment with multiple interactions happening simultaneously. The role requires multi-tasking, attention to detail, and listening skills. Employees will interact with patients from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds. Knowing multiple languages is a plus.
