An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Patient Access Coordinator to join their team. Accountability Objectives:
Responsible for performing the Patient Access process, scheduling surgical and non-surgical procedures in SurgiNet. Coordinates multiple services in proper sequence, accommodating department's special needs for each service. Collaborates with multiple departments to optimize resource utilization while considering physician preferences and patient needs. Obtains accurate pre-registration, insurance information, and procedure codes for billing.
Displays courteous, professional behavior, proactively develops customer relationships, and prioritizes customer satisfaction.
Position Qualifications:
Minimum Education, Licensure / Certification and Experience Required:
Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Courses in word processing or medical terminology preferred. College classes in business, public relations, or medical fields desirable.
Licensure / Certification: None
Experience: Experience with scheduling in Cerner Enterprise or SurgiNet systems. Accurate typing skills (40 wpm), experience with medical terminology, ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM coding, and knowledge of third-party payers preferred.
Special Skills / Aptitudes:
Ability to gather verbal information via telephone and enter data into a computer simultaneously. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Organized, able to problem-solve, work independently, and provide excellent customer service.
