Accountability Objectives:

Responsible for performing the Patient Access process, scheduling surgical and non-surgical procedures in SurgiNet.

Employment Details:

Description:

Responsible for scheduling procedures, coordinating services, collaborating with departments, and obtaining accurate registration and insurance information. Maintains customer satisfaction and professionalism in interactions.

Position Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or GED; courses in medical terminology or word processing preferred.
• Experience: Scheduling experience in Cerner or SurgiNet, familiarity with medical coding, and typing accuracy of 40 wpm.
• Skills: Excellent communication, organization, problem-solving, and customer service skills; ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Duties / Responsibilities:

1. Schedule procedures independently, considering complex cases and interdepartmental communication.
2. Obtain registration and insurance details for billing accuracy.
3. Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts, collaborate for add-on/emergent procedures.
4. Coordinate hospital services, inform surgeons, troubleshoot system issues, and optimize scheduling efficiency.
5. Review reports, maintain confidentiality, participate in meetings and quality improvement activities.
6. Support revenue management, equipment tracking, and electronic health records documentation.

Working Conditions:

• Ability to sit for long periods, use a computer, and answer phones.
• Normal office environment, Monday to Friday, minimal overtime.
