Compensation Range: $21.82 - $29.45

Your rate of pay will be based on applicable experience.

Position Summary

The Patient Access Representative III is assigned to the Emergency Department and is responsible to accurately collect and analyze all required demographic, insurance, financial and clinical data elements necessary to register patients presenting for treatment. The incumbent is responsible for routine and advanced level patient access activities to facilitate efficient operations, expeditious reimbursement, optimal consumer satisfaction, and teamwork. The incumbent further the mission of Enloe Medical Center, improving the quality of life through patient‑centered care, and consistently demonstrates the core values, regulatory compliance, and the Medical Center’s Code of Conduct.

Education / Training / Experience

• Minimum of one of the following:
• Competency as Patient Access Representative I or II at Enloe Medical Center
• 6 months in a hospital patient registration position
• 2 years patient registration experience in a doctor’s office or medical setting

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities

• Excellent customer service skills and ability to interface with all levels of personnel.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Positive, professional and effective interpersonal relations with patients, public, physicians and staff, and ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Communicating with patients and families during times of emotional and physical stress.
• Sensitivity and compassion for the hospitalized patient and family.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and expedite registration activities to support clinical operational needs in emergent situations.
• Maintain all protected patient information in strict confidence.
• High ethical standards and compliance with applicable State and Federal regulatory requirements.
• Competency in performance of duties in accordance with department standards.
• Follow instructions, work quickly and accurately, organize and prioritize assignments.
• Reliability and dependability, reporting to work as scheduled.
• Ability to work under frequent interruptions, flexibility and adaptability to change.
• Must be able to fulfill the essential functions of the position.
