POSITION SUMMARY
The Patient Access Representative III is assigned to the Emergency Department and accurately collects and analyzes all required demographic, insurance, financial and clinical data to register patients presenting for treatment. They perform routine and advanced patient access activities to support efficient operations, expeditious reimbursement and optimal consumer satisfaction, while promoting teamwork and furthering the mission of Enloe Medical Center.
EDUCATION / TRAINING / EXPERIENCE
- Competent as Patient Access Representative I or II at Enloe Medical Center
- 6 months in a hospital patient registration position
- 2 years patient registration experience in a doctor’s office or medical setting
SKILLS / KNOWLEDGE / ABILITIES
- Excellent customer service skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Positive, professional and effective interpersonal relations with patients, public, physicians, and staff
- Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Ability to communicate with patients and families during times of emotional and physical stress
- Sensitivity and compassion for hospitalized patients and families
