Job summary

Qualifications

  • Alternatively, completion of a Patient Access Representative traineeship at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (Roswell Park).

Responsibilities

  • Guide patients through accessing care at Roswell Park.
  • Coordinate new and returning patient appointments, testing, and admissions.
  • Gather and review information for patient intake and care planning.
  • Collaborate with referring providers and internal teams for timely coordination of care.

  • Help patients navigate insurance requirements and obtain financial clearance.
  • Ensure records and documentation are maintained accurately.

You will serve as a key connection point for patients, caregivers, referring providers, and clinical teams, ensuring that every step of the access process is smooth, timely, and supportive. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others, coordinating complex details, and creating a positive experience during what can be a challenging and emotional time for patients and families. The starting annual salary for this position is $42,641 and this can include a full comprehensive benefits package. What You'll Do: In this role, you will: Guide patients through the process of accessing care at Roswell Park Coordinate new and returning patient appointments, diagnostic testing, and hospital admissions Gather and review information needed to support patient intake and care planning Collaborate with referring providers and internal clinical teams to ensure timely coordination of care Facilitate communication between patients, caregivers, and disease-site teams throughout the scheduling and access process Help patients navigate insurance requirements and obtain financial clearance for services Ensure all necessary records, documentation, and information are collected and accurately maintained Support a seamless patient experience by proactively identifying and resolving barriers to care What You'll Bring: You may be a great fit for this role if you are: Passionate about helping patients and families navigate healthcare services Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and attention to detail A strong communicator who can build positive relationships with patients, providers, and colleagues Comfortable coordinating complex schedules and information across multiple teams Skilled at problem-solving and finding solutions in a fast-paced environment Knowledgeable about healthcare scheduling, patient access, insurance processes, or financial clearance activities Committed to providing exceptional customer service and support Why This Role Matters: For many patients, the path to treatment begins with this role. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and the equivalent of one (1) year of full-time experience in patient registration, patient scheduling, or insurance verification; or 2. High School diploma or High School Equivalency diploma and successful completion of a Patient Access Representative traineeship at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center (Roswell Park).
