Job summary

Tenet Healthcare is seeking a Patient Access representative to support departmental efficiencies across scheduling, registration, and pre-admission activities. You will collect patient demographics, explain hospital forms, and ensure compliant liability collection throughout the care episode.

The role requires accurate data entry, strong customer service, and the ability to work across multiple patient access areas including Emergency Department as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; some college coursework preferred.
• 0–1 year in a customer service role.
• 0–1 year administrative experience in medical facility, health insurance, or related area preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and perform full registration at date of service; explain and secure hospital forms; scan PHI; assist with scheduling diagnostic procedures.
• Educate patients about financial liabilities; collect patient payments per policy; perform hospital cash reconciliation and secure payment entry.
• Obtain insurance verifications and authorizations; coordinate post-discharge care when needed; ensure compliance with CMS/Medicare requirements.
