Job summary

Great Plains Health in North Platte, NE is seeking a Patient Access Tech II to coordinate patient access activities, answer calls, schedule and register patients, and route inquiries. Qualifications

• Education: high school diploma or equivalent required.
• Must be 19 years of age.
• Credentials: None.

Responsibilities

• Maintains understanding of Registration modules in Hospital Information System and Document Imaging System to pre-register and register patients; maintain accuracy of status, transfers, newborn admissions, and discharges (≥99% after six months).
• Interpret insurance information and insurance cards.
• Use chart repository and order repository correctly.
• Manage downtime procedures and re-initiation of HIS and Document Imaging System.
• Check patient insurance eligibility via websites.
• Complete patient financial screening to facilitate needs and reimbursement.
• Process patient payments and explain good faith estimates and payment plans.
