Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Two years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal, Workers Comp, Managed Care (HMO, PPO, POS, etc).
• Ability to analyze operational and procedural problems and develop, evaluate proposed solutions.
• Ability to speak and write effectively at a level appropriate for the job.
• Knowledge of computer systems and software used in the functional area.

Responsibilities

• Admit and register patients from start to finish with accuracy.
• Identify patients’ insurance coverage or resources to pay for care.
• Assist patients with questions about insurance benefits and payor requirements.
• Process admission/registration paperwork and ensure compliance for billing.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients, families and staff.
• Coordinate with unit teams on registration, radiology and lab intake as needed.
