Job summary

Edward-Elmhurst Health is seeking a Patient Access Representative in Naperville, IL. You will handle in-patient, out-patient, ER and same-day surgery pre-registrations and registrations, process orders, and assist with cash collection and documentation in the revenue cycle.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, with 1–2 years in healthcare registration or related roles; associate degree preferred. Evening hours and part-time 20 hours per week are available.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
• One to two years in registration, scheduling, patient accounts, cash collections or customer service in healthcare is preferred.
• Knowledge of health insurance, medical terminology and anatomy is preferred.
• Strong data entry and keyboarding skills are important.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is desired.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide timely and accurate pre-registrations, registrations, and order management for patients.
• Assist with charge capture and cash collection, ensuring accurate data in medical information systems.
• Verify third‑party eligibility and support medical necessity coding for proper payment.
• Interact with patients and families to explain revenue cycle expectations and payment options.
