Kern Medical Surgery Center, ENT Clinics, is hiring a Patient Access Services Representative I/II for the ENT Clinic. This role supports registration, financial counseling, and eligibility determinations, ensuring accurate data capture and smooth patient flow.

The position emphasizes collecting payments, verifying insurances, and guiding patients through available funding resources, with opportunities for career growth within the patient access team.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; 6 months of patient access experience for Level I.
• Level II requires 1 year patient access experience.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medi-Cal, CCS, and other payers; HIPAA compliance and medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients, reviews process, and schedules appointments for exams or follow-ups.
• Assembles data for complete patient registration and completes insurance verifications and authorizations.
• Enters patient demographics into the EHR system and uses applications for eligibility and authorization.
• Assesses financial responsibility and collects co-pays, co-insurance, and deductibles at admission.
• Screens admissions and informs offices and families about payment policies.
• Interviews patients to determine eligibility for state-funded programs and available funding resources.
• Obtains funding information and initiates referrals for Medi-Cal, CMS, and other programs.
• Maintains records and assists with inquiries related to patient access processes.
