Qualifications

• Experience handling patient registration, billing and collections.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and privacy standards.
• Proficient with computers, electronic modalities and basic office software.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Ensure complete and accurate patient demographics and financial data for all accounts.
• Inform patients about estimates, collect balances and educate on financial assistance when applicable.
• Obtain signatures and insurance cards to complete admission records and generate facesheet/blueplate.
• Provide information about insurance verification and authorization; reschedule if needed.
• Perform intake tasks: phone calls, scheduling orders, faxes and walk-ins for registration.
• Prioritize workload and adapt to changes to support department goals.
• Promote teamwork and provide coverage across registration areas; train coworkers as needed.
• Maintain confidentiality and handle high-pressure situations.
• Perform other duties as required.
