Job summary

Holland Hospital is seeking a dedicated Registration Specialist to be the first point of contact for patients. You will ensure accurate registration, verify insurance, and collect payments while delivering excellent service.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy clinic environment. Experience with EHR systems and virtual check-in workflows is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
• Associate degree or higher preferred.
• Experience in Medical Office Front Desk/Reception.
• Experience with EHR systems and virtual patient check-in workflows preferred.
• Understanding of medical terminology, insurance plans, and billing workflows.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients for visits by phone or in person to collect demographic data.
• Verifies and updates demographic information for every visit.
• Supports virtual check-in workflows by verifying demographic, consent, and insurance data.
• Educates patients on consent forms and compliance requirements.
• Interviews patients to obtain payer information and verifies insurance coverage.
• Uses CHAMPS, Availity, Priority Health, and similar systems to determine payer details.
• Explains insurance coverage, deductibles, and co-pay responsibilities to patients.
• Collects payments for services and ensures accurate billing.
• Interviews patients for MSP questionnaire and clarifies coverage.
