Holland Hospital is seeking a Part Time Patient Access Specialist to register patients across ED, Urgent Care, Lab, Radiology, and Operator services. You will verify identifications, collect payments, and balance cash while using multiple software systems. A high school diploma is required with healthcare experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in healthcare, medical office, or patient-facing high-acuity customer service preferred.
• Ability to multitask and make rapid decisions under pressure.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in high-pressure environments.
• Familiarity with medical terminology or registration workflows preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient identification per hospital policy and scan ID/insurance cards.
• Update and validate patients’ information to ensure accurate demographic registration.
• Access multiple software systems to determine payer/benefit information.
• Determine patient responsibility using software and discuss payment with compassion.
• Collect copays and patient payments following established standards; balance cash box and online systems.
• Participate in meetings, share improvement ideas, and support compliance and process efficiency.
