Job summary

Kent Hospital in Warwick, RI seeks a Registration Clerk to obtain Personal Health Information (PHI) and register patients in the Hospital Information and Clinical Systems. You will verify insurance information with payers and collect co-payments at registration to maintain accurate demographic and financial data for all departments.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma and at least two years of related experience or equivalent.
• Certificate of Medical Terminology preferred.
• Typing speed 40 wpm and basic PC skills across multiple applications.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors and assist with comfort and coordination.
• Register patients in Patcom/Affinity using PHI in a timely, accurate manner.
• Explain financial requirements and collect co-payments at registration.
• Communicate with physicians' offices to verify information for scheduling and registration.
• Obtain signatures for consent and financial responsibility as required.
• Collect insurance co-payments for ED visits and outpatient services.
• Organize test results and forms for the patient’s permanent record.
• Create daily reports identifying registration schedules.
