Job summary

Citizens Medical Center in Victoria, TX is seeking a Patient Access Representative to obtain and enter accurate demographic and insurance information in the EHR, and to coordinate insurance verification on admissions. Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a strong customer service environment.
• One year of registration experience in a hospital environment.
• Sufficient proficiency in English language to perform essential functions.
• Proficient computer skills and ability to learn and navigate multiple software programs.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and records accurate demographic and insurance information on patients by interviewing patients, family members and physicians.
• Explains the consent forms, obtains signatures on the forms, and responds to any questions in a professional manner.
• Uses patient identifiers consistently to properly identify patients and the correct medical records.
• Reviews physician’s order for the appropriate CPT/diagnosis code to support authorization, precertification, and medical necessity according to payer guidelines.
• Pre-registers patient cases by entering complete and accurate information into the hospital billing system prior to the patient’s arrival.
