Job summary

Methodist Hospital is seeking a Patient Access Representative to create a positive first impression for patients, visitors and families. You will collect demographics, verify insurance, input data accurately, and support registration in the Emergency Center and Admitting areas.

Training covers insurance selection competency and EMTALA requirements, with emphasis on accuracy and customer service in a fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated P/C and keyboard experience.
• Demonstrated customer service skills.
• Demonstrated written/verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work cohesively and respectfully with a diverse workforce and patient population.
• Ability to utilize critical thinking skills while working through complex situations.
• Ability to meet quality and productivity standards, including accuracy in patient registrations and customer satisfaction.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently with little supervision.
• Ability and expectation to complete a competency examination on insurance selection/process upon completion of training and annually thereafter.
• Ability and expectation to demonstrate competency on insurance selection/process on a monthly basis.
• Extensive use of Registration software required.
