Rochester Regional Health is seeking a part-time Patient Registration Clerk to support the Patient Access Services department at SLH-CPH Main in Potsdam, NY. The role involves welcoming patients, collecting demographics and payment information, verifying insurance, and performing registration across settings including bedside and emergency.

The position supports life-safety communications and data entry, while contributing to revenue cycle activities and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Associate's degree or higher in healthcare administration, business administration, or related field preferred.
• 1-3 years of customer service, administrative, and/or data entry experience.
• 1-2 years of hospital-related experience preferred.
• Experience with database software applications and EHR systems (e.g., Epic).
• Knowledge of medical terminology and hospital billing processes.

Responsabilités

• Register patients accurately by interviewing for demographics, financials, and medical info; perform bedside, inpatient, emergency, and phone registration.
• Verify insurance coverage and benefits; complete payer documentation; collect patient balances and resolve registration errors.
• Operate hospital switchboard, route calls, monitor alarms, and assist patients and visitors.
• Provide excellent customer service; manage waiting areas; communicate wait times; protect confidentiality.
• Participate in training and onboarding; support quality goals and continuous improvement.
