Job summary

Mercy Health St. Vincent Medical Center is seeking a Patient Access Representative to register patients, verify demographics, obtain insurance information, and update medical records accurately.

The role involves scheduling, interpreting financial options, and ensuring efficient patient flow on a busy health care campus. Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED, with preference for an Associate degree; prior registration/healthcare experience is welcome but not required, and strong

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required.
• Associate degree preferred but not required.
• Experience in patient registration/healthcare preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service and communications with patients, medical staff, and the public.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Performs registration and basic insurance verification.
• Maintains confidentiality of all patients' records and accounts.
• Ensures patient flow is maintained and informs Supervisor of issues.
• Answers the telephone with a standard greeting and assists callers.
• Other duties as assigned.
