Job summary

Avem Health Partners seeks a patient registrar to greet callers, collect demographics and insurance information, and schedule outpatient services. This role is the first point of contact for pricing, scheduling, and inquiries, ensuring accurate registration and adherence to procedures.

You will collect deductibles and co-insurance, assist with registrations and medical records, and collaborate with the Business Office to resolve issues while upholding excellent customer service and timely

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year scheduling experience in a medical business office.
• Excellent customer service skills required.
• Knowledge of health insurances and regulations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Explain financial policies to patients.
• Collect deductibles, co-insurance and non-covered charges.
• Answer all incoming calls regarding patient accounts.
• Research account issues; correct and/or initiate correction of errors.
• Correct errors, refer insurance issues to the Business Office and/or CBO.
• Initiate outgoing calls to receive payment and/or increase cash collection.
• Respond to or forward non-cash business office correspondence.
• Assist registration and medical records as necessary.
• Prepare standard registration/admission forms for patients or transfer tasks.
• Provide backup coverage for other department staff.
