Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience in a medical or hospital patient access or financial services environment preferred.
• Knowledge of government programs such as Medicare and Medicaid.

Responsibilities

• Pre-registration and registration of patients.
• Payer identification and verification.
• Referral to financial counseling.
• Point of service collections.
• Ensure accurate data entry of patient demographics and benefits information.
• Verify benefits eligibility and coordination of benefits.
• Determine and collect patient financial responsibility at point of service.
• Understand regulatory requirements (Medicare, HIPAA, EMTALA) and adhere to them.
• Perform additional duties within scope of role as assigned.
