Qualifications

• At least 2 years’ experience in a medical or hospital patient access or financial services environment preferred.
• Knowledge of government programs such as Medicare and Medicaid.

Responsibilities

• Pre-registration and registration of patients, payer identification and verification.
• Referral to financial counseling as needed and recording of data accurately in patient systems.
• Process point of service collections and collect patient financial responsibility.
• Verify benefits eligibility and coordination of benefits.
• Understand regulatory requirements (HIPAA, EMTALA) and related disclosures.
