Qualifikationen

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree in healthcare or business-related field preferred.
• Bilingual capability (English/Spanish) desirable.
• At least 2 years' experience in a medical or hospital patient access or financial services environment preferred.
• Training experience a plus.
• Knowledge of government programs such as Medicare and Medicaid.

Aufgaben

• Pre-registration, registration, payer identification and verification, and referral to financial counseling.
• Point of service collections and data entry of patient demographic and benefit information.
• Verify benefits eligibility and coordination of benefits; determine and collect patient financial responsibility at point of service.
• Understand regulatory requirements (Medicare, HIPAA, EMTALA) and related signage/communications.
• May have additional duties within scope of role.
