Job summary

Baptist Health in Prattville Imaging Center is seeking a Patient Registration Specialist PRN to perform pre-registration, registration, payer identification and verification, and referral to financial counseling.

You will ensure accurate data entry of patient demographics and benefits, verify eligibility, collect patient financial responsibility at point of service, and support regulatory requirements including HIPAA and EMTALA.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent required.
• Associate's degree in healthcare or business-related field preferred.
• Bilingual capability (English/Spanish) desirable.
• At least 2 years' experience in a medical or hospital patient access or financial services environment preferred.
• Training experience a plus.
• Knowledge of government programs such as Medicare and Medicaid.

Responsibilities

• Pre-registration, registration, payer identification and verification.
• Referral to financial counseling and point of service collections.
• Ensure data gathered and entered is accurate in patient demographics and benefit information.
• Verify benefits eligibility and limitations; coordinate benefits and collect patient financial responsibility at the point of service.
• Understand regulatory requirements (Medicare, HIPAA, EMTALA) and related signage.
