Job summary

Baptist Health - Central Alabama seeks a Patient Registration Specialist PRN at Prattville Imaging Center to manage pre-registration, registration, payer identification, and at‑service collections. You will ensure accurate data entry, verify benefits, and coordinate with financial counseling to determine and collect patient obligations.

This role requires strong MS Office skills, patient service experience, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years in a medical or hospital patient access or financial services environment preferred.
• Bilingual capability (English/Spanish) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Pre-registration and registration; payer identification and verification.
• Refer to financial counseling as needed and collect at the point of service.
• Ensure accurate entry of patient demographics and benefit information.
• Verify benefits eligibility and coordination of benefits; determine patient financial responsibility.
• Understand regulatory requirements (HIPAA, EMTALA, Medicare/Medicaid) and apply accordingly.
