Job summary

St. Luke's University Health Network in Palmerton is seeking a Patient Access Representative for outpatient and Emergency Department registration.

This per diem role requires shifts 2–3 days a week, at least 16 hours per month, with one Saturday per month. You will correctly identify patients, transcribe orders, verify insurance, collect co-pays, and coordinate with clinical and revenue cycle teams to ensure accurate records, clean claims and timely payment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Certificate/Degree in health care related field preferred.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills required.
• General computer experience and ability to type fluently, accurately, and quickly required.
• Insurance background preferred.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify and validate patients in the hospital information system to maintain accurate electronic medical records.
• Cross train across locations and be prepared to work in outpatient and Emergency Department areas.
• Greet patients and visitors and provide friendly service; enforce visitor policy as applicable.
• Answer internal and external calls and provide information about the facility and services.
• Promote MyChart patient portal and patient self-service capabilities to engage patients in their care.
• Assist patients with Welcome Kiosk and On My Way technology and manage online self-scheduling and arrival process.
• Coordinate with SLPG practices and revenue cycle departments to obtain required insurance referrals and pre-certs when needed.
• Obtain medical license number, NPI and UPIN for new provider entries.
