Job summary

Kansas Health System in Olathe is seeking a Patient Registration Representative to handle inpatient and outpatient registrations, collect demographics and financial information, and ensure accurate data entry for patient encounters.

You will greet patients, collect co-payments as required, balance the cash drawer daily, and ensure consent and insurance forms are correctly completed in line with Medicare/Medicaid rules and department procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED.
• 2+ years of Clerical, Registration, and/or Customer Service experience in healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Register inpatients and outpatients with accurate demographics and insurance data.
• Obtain proper patient identification and financial information at point of service.
• Greet patients and relatives and collect co-payments as required.
• Enter information into the computer system with correct spelling and MRN.
• Balance cash drawer at end of day and maintain accurate records.
• Explain facility policies and ensure consent forms and insurance forms are completed.
• Adhere to Medicare/Medicaid and other insurance rules and regulations.
• Support inventory and release of patient valuables per department policy.
• Provide coverage across Admitting areas as needed and assist with other duties.
